Three Oaks Shelter – New second stage housing project making progress

Construction has been underway at the site of the new Three Oaks Transitional second stage housing on North Front street since late fall. Despite the long,snowy and frigidly cold winter, the crews have made progress at the site. The shelter was originally slated to open this month. There is no word yet on when the project will be completed.

Bad weekend for driving

What a crazy weekend for weather it has been in the Quinte area. Snow squalls started Friday afternoon and continued off and on throughout the day Saturday. Currently there is a snow squall watch for the area.

There were numerous accidents and a few major pile-ups across the 401 resulting in several highway closures. Some people on social media reported being stuck in one spot for hours along the 401.
 The OPP reported this morning that there were over 1600 accidents since Friday. You can read the full news release here.
